Police have named and charged a suspect inthe Oct. 21 homicideof Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll.
He was also charged with “One Count of Home Invasion which a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and one count of Lying to a Peace Officer during a 4 year or more crime investigation, a two-year misdemeanor,” police said.
The felony murder charge carries a penalty of life in prison without parole, police said. Jackson-Bolanos was arraigned and remanded to jail in 36th District Court on Wednesday.
Police said there are “no facts to suggest that the homicide was a hate crime.” The suspect and Woll did not know each other, police added.
After an “exhaustive” investigation, police allege that Jackson-Bolanos “committed a home invasion when he entered [Woll’s] house and stabbed her multiple times causing her death,” according to Wednesday’s statement. Police also allege that the suspect made “false and misleading” statements to investigators.

Woll, 40, was the Board President of theIsaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue. She was foundstabbed to deathoutside her home in Lafayette Park, Michigan, on Oct. 21.
Officers pronounced Woll dead at the scene. Police found her body with multiple stab wounds after a witness reported seeing her unresponsive on the ground and called 911,PEOPLEreported at the time.
In November, police took oneperson into custodyas a person of interest, PEOPLE reported at the time. That person wasreleasedtwo days later.
Earlier this week, Detroit police took asecond person of interestinto custody.

Detroit Chief James E. White said in October that Woll was returning from a wedding where she was her “normal positive and pleasant self," according to witnesses.
He said police believe she “stumbled” out and “collapsed” outside her home after being stabbed inside, leaving a trail of blood, PEOPLE reported at the time. She was on the street for “quite a while” before being discovered, White added.
Woll was a beloved member of the community who also worked with numerous political figures. She was “a ray of sunshine” and was “always present in all the right ways,” her family wrote in anobituaryfollowing her killing.
TheDetroit Free Pressreported at the time that Woll worked for Rep. Elissa Slotkin, as well as Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel on her reelection campaign before she began serving on the board of the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue.
