At yesterday ’s Google Zeitgeist conference in Arizona , CEO Eric Schmidt reassert that the company will roll out a Modern societal service , internally dubbedGoogle Me , sometime this Fall . They basically want to give your web a societal booster unit shot .
Schmidt did n’t offer too many detail on the service , according to theWall Street Journal , but it sound like or else of or in improver to a centralized societal hub , a la Facebook , Google Me will center on adding societal components to existing Google services . On YouTube , for model , you might be alerted when a caboodle of your supporter have watched the same cat video . Group overplus : the new societal medium .
The WSJ also mentions that Google ’s move ahead with Zynga to allow users play the latter ’s wildly democratic social game , like Farmville and Mafia Wars , on a weapons platform other than Facebook . In July , Tech Crunch reported that Google had quietly invested some $ 100 millionin the social gaming companionship .
