You ’d retrieve that a form of perfect shadow would take care like the heart and soul of evil . But the 158 silhouettes from this week ’s Shooting Challenge are active , sincere , understated , mirthful , friendly , sexy … and yes … occasionally a little bit evil , too .
Lead Shot
take with a Nikon D80 in manual mode with an ISO of 100 and a 28 - 105 Nikkor that I ’ve had since the 90 ’s . Shot at f/29 for 1/10 seconds with a white shopping pocketbook taped to the window in direct sun , tweaked the pure tone in PS .

Grazing
As I was driving through the state on my way home I noticed several oxen in front of this beautiful sunset . I pulled over quickly and crouched on the side of the route to get the desired angle . I was a little hasten as I attempted to avert being bleed over but I tried to make the good of it . Nikon D5000 , Sigma 70 - 200 2.8 , 1/1250 , f/4.0 , ISO 100

Death Carnival
This shot was done using an iPhone 3Gs camera , no limited setting was used . I applied just little Photoshop degree pinch .
I was walking enjoying the 2010 Kern County Fair Carnival in Bakersfield , California , when I saw this citizenry taking this mellow ride . Sun was just falling paint the sky with overnice colors . I got my iPhone and took this picture very tight , when I refresh this dig I point out this howling silhouette flying around this rotating pillar .

Branches In Sunset
Taken in Julian , San Diego county . This was the sundown right before a vicious rainfall tempest which hammer the area for the following two twenty-four hours . Nikon D3000 w/ 55 - 200 mm , f/5.3 , 1/320 sec . , ISO 200

Spider, Web
I took this picture above the fence next to the place I ’m staying in Queensburrow ( near Vancouver ) , BC , Canada . I got up to take out the trash in the morning and it was exceptionally fogged , which does n’t encounter very often here . I had actually eyed another shooter , went inside and got my camera , took it , then wandered around a little until I found this one . Not much of a write up , but that ’s how it happened ! Canon T1i , EF50 mm f1.8/ II , 1/250 , f/8.0 , ISO 100

Fire
This hebdomad Shooting Challenge could n’t have come at a better sentence . I go in Norrköping , Sweden and just today there was an empty building that burned down . I was already planning on going on a pass with my neighbour to take pic of the nightfall leaves but we did n’t get out until after the Lord’s Day went down . So instead of taking photos of the foliage we walk over to the building that burned down and I got to take some photo of that alternatively . It ’s situated correctly on the river side so in the photo you may see the reflection of the fire as well as the strong light source the reliever set up while spraying it down with water .
Some slight feeling , direct contrast , and stage variety . I then convince the whole photograph to smuggled and white and let the fire and 30 % of the roll of tobacco ’s original color through . Taken on my Pentax K100D Super .

Black Is the New Canal
I was in my neighbourhood the dark of October 1st experimenting with recollective exposure and ace when I admit this picture . This was one of the last snap I took and I was about to give up for lack of success , but I ’m glad I did n’t . I found this picture very reposeful and settle to submit it because of the silhouette the trees made against the down sky and it ’s reflexion in the canal . Nikon Coolpix P6000 , Shutter Speed : 25 Seconds , F/3.2 , ISO 64

Wait…A Freaking Walk Counts As a Date These Days? Has The Economy Gotten THAT Bad??
I just started go out a girl and we were on a walk last Sunday night for a escort . She mention on an earlier date she liked walking around taking pictures with her camera , so we brought our cameras . We were walking on a itinerary by her place and we achieve a little vale . On the west side there was a grassy Alfred Hawthorne and we examine a family crossing the crest on their bikes . She was the one who suggested I take a picture of them . canyon 50D , EF28 - 135 mm f/3.5 - 5.6 IS USM , ISO : 1000 , 1/200 sec at f / 5.6

The Model
I pack this picture with a Sony Cyber - shot DSC - HX1 . The camera was stain young , and I was highly excited to get the prospect to utilise it . Initially , I notice it challenge to fascinate a silhouette , until I thought of using a windowpane . I terminate up having quite a complex setup : First , I closed every doorway and shade in the room , except for one , so that the inside of the house would be dark than the exterior . I then hang up a shroud in front of the window , to avoid capture the tree in the background , and pose a model sailing boat on the windowsill . And then of course , I had to wait for the wind to die out down so that the sheet would stop blow in the room . Once the lighting and wind were just right , I took the motion-picture show . The scene was edited a little ( within the guidelines ) , just to make the sailing boat support out a small more .

Payload
This was just a quick shot with a Samsung Vibrant using the Malcolm stock camera app . No change were made with the picture . I choose to go away it this way because it helps lend to what the smell is like when the door and ramp first open . I did n’t have much time . Also my camera was in my bag strapped down in the back while I was in the front . This is the cargo compartment of a C-130 Hercules . We had just landed on our flight habitation , a bit of turbulence I might summate . The aircraft was just dropping us off and taking back off , so the loadmaster get to the Allium tricoccum and door and we conk the rear with all four engine still turning .

Smoking Dragon
I was sit at my computer and recall what picture to make when I saw a silhouette of my dragon , so I grabbed my camera and made a yoke of pictures and this one was the best 🙂 Canon 7D , EF - S 55 - 250 IS , 1/20 , f/6.3 , ISO 100

Leap: Part I
Long story short , my friend and I settle to take a walkway Thursday evening and I insisted on going past the new Venice skate park just for the chance to get a beautiful sunset for my very first Gizmodo photo challenge entry . There were several skaters that could really becharm zephyr so I was super mad and the sundown was incredible . I doubt I ’d get anything good but when I got home and view this image , to me , it was the one and only to send in . I pretty much just pip straight into the sun , very minor demarcation and levels adjustment to serve the colors bolt down . I ’m very quenched with the shoot in general . Canon Rebel T2i , 18 - 55 mm , ISO 200 , f/4.5 , 1/1000 sec .

Leap: Part II
We were down in the Coromandel region of New Zealand , We are just coming out of an awful winter down here but today the sun was shining and the temp was hot – first proper daytime of summertime yeayah .. Was around 6 in the eventide , rend off the road for a smoke , took a wander through the bush and come across a alternative waterhole . I was down the bank give a weed while my mates rigged an offhand rope swing . As before long as the first one chute I grabbed my cam and shoot this flat off … loving the karate - kick activity going on . Was a stack break in the road head trip . Sony a200 with Kit lens , 1/2000 sec , f5.6 , ISO 100

Electric Highway
An Electric Highway . You see these everywhere . They go on for C of mile without sprain . A distribution channel cut properly across the land . This is really a recreation of a shot I took several yr ago . I knew I like the shot for silhouetting , and I still have the original . I knew where to take the shot and when . A problem rise up when I gain coppice had grow much higher over the years . I ended up stand on the documentation for a light post to get the shot up above the brush . Another job was that there were now weak posts ( one can be seen in the stab ) . This just make me realise that a scissor face lifting would be an awfully handing affair to have ( do n’t remind me that high emf overhead railway line and scissor lift do n’t unify well ) . Nikon D90 , Nikon 18 - 200 VR , 1/60 sec . f/8 , ISO 200

Bridge
The shot show the Boğaziçi Köprüsü ( bridge deck in Istanbul over the Bosporus ) . I have of late discovered the shot challenge on Gizmodo and want to participate . So this nip is from my holiday in Istanbul last hebdomad .
Me and my Girlfriend perish spontaneously on a tourist tour through the Bosporus , and this bridgework is the strongest watershed of Istanbul due to its special kindling which easy shift coloring material ( for gizmo a meanwhile quite cheap force , for a bridge it looks nevertheless telling ) . So I wanted to capture this famous bridge . As my girlfriend and I share the camera , I evidence her to test a shot of the bridge , hoping she would see an angle I have n’t recognize , and this is the outcome .
In the uncropped picture the bridgework was n’t revolve about ( that s why the ratio is be a bit unusual ) but with this very geometric form of the bridgework the isotropy enhance the beauty of the shot . To me , this is the most telling shot out of the 500 exposure of the last calendar week ( though not the best since it is not typical for the region ) . Canon EOS 350D , Canon 18 - 55 , 1/60 , f/5.0 , ISO 1600

WINNER – Hot Air Balloon Eclipse
My fiancee and I were at the opening Clarence Day of the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque , NM necessitate tons of pictures . I was try out to find a elbow room to contain the silhouette challenge , but was n’t having much luck . Then , I feel a phantom come over me and was able-bodied to turn around spry enough to take a picture show just as a balloon was go past in front of the sun . FujiFilm S9100 ( ISO 100 , f/8 , 1/2000 ) .
